We were using outdated punch clocks to track employee time, and too often were hit with overtime situations. With more than 1,700 employees in our primary location alone, this was a substantial problem for the company. We updated our systems to give supervisors a more accurate analysis of employee time records to avoid overtime as much as possible.
We chose Gorrie-Regan for a number of reasons. Their interface is easy, yet powerful. On the first screen supervisors see a list of people who are approaching overtime so they can plan accordingly. Their software also lets us automatically track employees as they transfer between departments. Under the old system we had to do this manually.
Gorrie-Regan made the switch as painless as possible. Because the user interface is easy, we had minimal training to get our supervisors up to speed. With other systems I’ve seen, the learning curve for supervisors to get comfortable with the system was typically six months. With Gorrie-Regan’s it was more like one month.
We had a project manager and a maintenance supervisor oversee the installation of our new system. Both were attentive to our needs and responsive whenever we had an issue or question. They had plenty of back-up people available for extraordinary times or problems. I was particularly appreciative of their sales people. They really go to bat for their customers. For instance, we installed wireless time clocks that ultimately didn’t work in our plant. Gorrie-Regan replaced these clocks with wired clocks, at their own expense. Their sales people really supported us on this particular problem, and now everything runs perfectly.
